How to Use the Hikvision App for Recorded Video

This guide illustrates how to use the Hikvision app to view recorded video from your camera system. Please see this guide to view the live feed of your security cameras.

Start Remote Playback

1. Open the iVMS app. (Please see this guide for help downloading the Hikvision app and setting it up with your cameras.)

2. If you do not see “Remote Playback” in the red bar at the top, tap Menu then Remote Playback.

2. Click the Camera Selection in the upper right.

3. We need to define the time range that you want to play back. Tap “From” and select the starting date and time (in 24 hour format). Tap “To” and select ending date and time.

4. Once you have entered your start and stop times, tap the back arrow in the top left.

5. Now we need to choose which cameras are displayed during playback. Tap the arrow next to your camera list to see all available cameras.

6. Tap the checkbox to the right of each camera in order to select it for playback. If you are on a slower connection, such as cellular, we recommend two cameras at a time. Once you have made your camera selection, tap “Start Playback”.

Control Remote Playback

NOTICE: All playback functions described below are performed per camera. You will notice a small yellow outline around one camera. This means if you perform a command (such as pause or fast forward), the action will apply only to that camera. Tap a camera to move the yellow bar and apply actions to that camera.

This flexibility means you can independently control playback on multiple cameras.

Move forward or backward in time: locate the timeline at the bottom of the screen. To quickly move forwards and backwards in time, slide the blue bar to the left or right. The date and time will change to indicate the point of time currently being played back.

Take a picture: tap the camera icon to take a picture of the current camera (surrounded by the yellow outline) and save the picture to your device (smartphone or tablet.) You can usually find this picture on your device where your other pictures are (camera roll, photo app, etc.)

Record a video: tap the scissors icon to start recording a video of the current camera (surrounded by the yellow icon). Tap the icon again to stop and save the video to your device (smartphone or tablet.) You can usually find this video on your device where your other videos are (Camera roll and Photos app).

To pause/play: tap the pause button to pause video playback. Tap it again to resume.

Speed up or slow down playback: tap the 1X button followed by the left or right arrows to speed or slow down playback. The current speed (1x, 2x, etc) is displayed directly under the

Stop all playback: tap the X icon to stop all playback.
