Enroll Your Landline With Duo
Setup Your Duo Multi-Factor Account with a Landline
While Duo works best with a smartphone or tablet, a landline can be used when these devices are not available.
When you attempt to sign into a Duo-protected resource an automated phone call will occur. When the call is answered, press any button to verify the sign-in and complete the second factor authentication.
1-You will receive an email from Duo Security inviting you to complete the enrollment.
The email will include a link to get started. Click this link to visit the Duo website.
2-Once the webpage loads click the “Start Setup” button.
3-Choose “Landline” and click “Continue”.
4-Enter the 10 digit phone number, check the box to confirm its accuracy and click “Continue”.
Note that you can enter an extension is required, but be aware that Duo uses automated phone calls and the phone system must allow extension dialing directly from the main menu of your phone system.
5-Check the box to verify the number and click “Continue”.
6-If asked for “When I log in:”, we recommend choosing “Automatically call this device”.
7-Click “Finish Enrollment”
Now that your landline is enrolled with Duo security, when you attempt to access a Duo protected resource you will receive an automated phone call to the number supplied. Once you answer you may press any key to perform your dual factor authentication and complete your connection.
