Did you know that if you are using Windows 7 you can use a built-in feature to quickly calibrate your display?

Most people don’t realize that the monitor they are using is probably not set for optimal viewing. For example, the brightness may be turned up too high or the colors could benefit from some adjustment.

Multimedia production professionals use high-end monitors and calibration processes to ensure that the color they use while preparing a flyer will be the same color that is printed. But what about the rest of us?

Using Windows 7, click on Start and then Control Panel. In the search box, type calibrate display and then click on Calibrate display color.

Take a few minutes to change the settings on your monitor – you will appreciate the difference. You will probably think that the monitor is too dark when you are finished. Give it some time and not only will you get used to it but you will wonder why you didn’t do it a long time ago.
